Good afternoon Joyceville Community,

It has certainly started to feel like spring around Joyceville Public School! Over the past few weeks, our school has been filled with excitement and energy through events like Café Français, the Road Race, and Junior Basketball. These opportunities help build community, school spirit, and wonderful memories for our students. Thank you to our staff, families, and School Advisory Council members for all of the support, organization, and encouragement that help make these experiences possible for our students.

Upcoming Reminders & Events

• MacMillan’s Fundraiser Orders
MacMillan’s orders will be available for pick up on Tuesday, May 12th at 2:00 p.m. or after.

• Grade 7 Immunizations
Grade 7 immunizations will take place on Wednesday, May 13th.

• Field Trip – Trillium Gymnastics
Mrs. Londry’s and Mrs. Norman’s classes will be heading to Trillium Gymnastics for an exciting field trip experience.

• Country Fair Class Gift Baskets
Our Country Fair is fast approaching! Please remember to send in your child’s donation for their classroom gift basket. If you have any questions about class baskets or donations, please contact the school office.

Our School Advisory Council is also currently looking for volunteers to help with Country Fair. Events like this are only possible because of the incredible support from our school community. If you are interested in helping out, please contact the school office.

• Public Health Reminder
Southeast Public Health is reminding families that there has recently been an increase in stomach illness in the Kingston area. Symptoms can include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, fever, and fatigue.

If your child is experiencing these symptoms, please keep them home from school and activities until at least 48 hours after symptoms have stopped. Public Health is also encouraging frequent hand washing with soap and water, as hand sanitizer is not always effective against some stomach illnesses.

Thank you for helping keep our students and staff healthy.

• PA Day
Please note that Friday, May 29th is a PA Day. There will be no school for students that day.

As always, thank you for your continued support of Joyceville Public School. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting stretch as we head toward the end of the school year!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mr. Morency
