Joyceville Public School – September 15 Newsletter

Dear Joyceville Families,

We’re off to a fantastic start! Thank you to our students for their enthusiasm, our staff for their dedication, and our families and community for your incredible support. It truly makes a difference.

We value open communication. Please reach out anytime if you have questions about your child’s academic progress or well-being—working together helps every student succeed.

Focus on Learning

This year, we are prioritizing Mathematics and Literacy (Language). This aligns with Limestone’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan (2024–2028) and Ontario’s Student Achievement Plan, which focus on:

  • Achievement in core academic skills (literacy & math)
  • Preparation for future success (pathways, skills, transitions)
  • Student engagement & well-being (belonging, attendance, time on task)

You’ll see these priorities in our classroom instruction, use of evidence-based practices, and regular monitoring of student growth.

Parking Lot & Student Safety

The safety of our students is our top priority. We ask all families to be mindful of bus movement and to prioritize pedestrians when entering or exiting our parking lot. Please follow posted signs, use designated parking areas, and walk your child safely to the school. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and smooth start and end to each day.

Safety Protocols

In the coming weeks, we will be practicing our emergency safety procedures, including fire drills and lockdown protocols. These are important opportunities to ensure all students and staff know what to do in case of an emergency.

Important Dates

  • September 15 – 6:00 pm: School Advisory Council (SAC) Meeting
  • September 25: Open House & Corn Roast
  • October 9: Picture Day

We encourage families to mark these dates down in your calendars and consider joinging us for SAC and our annual Corn Roast.
